The Sherlock series 3 soundtrack is amazing

I'm not much of one for movie soundtracks, or songs without words in general, but let me tell you -- I bought the entire Sherlock series 3 soundtrack recently and  it was a great decision. David Arnold and Michael Price are brilliant composers. If you don't believe me, check this out:

The titles song is a combination of John's four-note motif and Sherlock's theme. Beyond that, John's motif is sad and depressing until combined with Sherlock's. Hahaha, kill me.

Here are five of the best tracks from the latest season's soundtrack:

"How It Was Done"

"Lazarus"

"Redbeard"

"Addicted to a Certain Lifestyle"

"The East Wind"

The soundtrack is great music for writing (listening to it now, duh), tumblr-ing, driving, cleaning your bathroom, and just generally anything at all.

This show has a bit of a problem with overusing background music, but at least in this series they had a variety of great songs to draw from -- in contrast to series 1, blasting "The Game is On" every fifteen seconds. You can forgive these songs being in scenes they shouldn't be in just because they're so good.
