Well. Here's some songs from my music collection that have the same name and my opinions on each. Click on the name of the artist to hear the song.
"Amsterdam" by Coldplay and Daughter
Coldplay's "Amsterdam" is one of my favorite songs by them. It starts off slow and pretty and builds throughout. Daughter's "Amsterdam" is a very nice song with a good beat to it, but nothing too special.
The better song is: Coldplay's
"Home" by Mumford and Sons, Daughter, Phillip Phillips and Theo Adler
Mumford and Sons' "Home" is one of my favorite songs by the group; it's sad and beautiful. Theo Adler's "Home" is a jam that I listen to frequently. Phillip Phillips' "Home" worked well in a lot of advertising campaigns, but quickly grew tiring. Daughter's "Home" is definitely a good song, but the chorus is a little annoying after about the third reprise.
The better song is: Mumford and Sons'
"Satellite" by Guster and the Dave Matthews Band
Both of these are songs that I grew up with. DMB's "Satellite" is much more chill than Guster's, which is more rocky. Both are great songs. Dave Matthew's is probably more unique both in its musicality and lyrics, though.
The better song is: the Dave Matthew's Band's
"Shiver" by Coldplay and Natalie Imbruglia
Coldplay's "Shiver" is fairly unknown, but one of my favorite songs by them. The angst is real. Natalie Imbruglia's "Shiver" got tiring many years ago, but it used to be one of my top jams.
The better song is: Coldplay's
"Nevermind" by Foster the People and Milky Chance
Foster the People's "Nevermind" is very chill and nice to listen to. Milky Chance's "Nevermind" sounds about the same as every other Milky Chance song, but his unique sound still makes it an interesting listen. However, my iTunes play counter points to a clear winner.
The better song is: Foster the People's
"1983" by Neon Trees and The Incredible Moses Leroy
Neon Trees' "1983" is very upbeat and rocky. The Incredible Moses Leroy's "1983" is still jam-worthy, but much more laidback.
The better song is: The Incredible Moses Leroy's
"Demons" by Imagine Dragons and The National
Imagine Dragons' "Demons" is a little too poppy for me, and was played on the radio a few more times. The National's "Demons" has a very interesting sound, and I like it a lot.
The better song is: the National's
"You And Me" by the Dave Matthews Band and Lifehouse
Both songs were over-played on the radio. Dave Matthew's "You and Me" is far from my favorite song by them, but it's less repetitively annoying than Lifehouse's.
The better song is: the Dave Matthew's Band's
